Breakthrough Minerals Limited has moved from acquisition to active exploration, commencing its first diamond drilling campaign at the Barbara Copper-Gold Project just weeks after securing the broader North Queensland Copper-Gold Project. The initial 1,500-metre program is focused on extending known high-grade mineralisation and unlocking further value within the project’s existing resource.
Drilling is targeting down-plunge extensions at Barbara North and South, where previous intersections delivered strong copper grades and ended in mineralisation—indicating significant potential for resource growth at depth. Management has prioritised these zones to quickly expand the current 63,000 tonnes of contained copper equivalent within a broader 200,000-tonne project resource.
The program also incorporates modern exploration techniques, including downhole electromagnetic (EM) surveys, to identify additional mineralised zones beyond the current resource boundaries. This approach is expected to guide future drilling and improve discovery success rates.
The Barbara project already sits on a granted mining lease and features a well-defined deposit with a 700-metre strike length and strong geological continuity. With mineralisation remaining open at depth, the current drilling campaign is aimed at both expanding the resource and upgrading its classification.
Beyond Barbara, exploration will extend to nearby prospects such as Lillymay, where previous results have shown high-grade copper potential. This broader strategy highlights the possibility of multiple discoveries across the company’s Queensland tenure.
Overall, Breakthrough Minerals is positioning itself for rapid growth through a focused, data-driven exploration strategy. With active drilling underway and a pipeline of targets, the company is set for a steady flow of results as it works to expand its copper-gold footprint.
