Black Cat Syndicate has commenced underground mining at the Majestic deposit, part of its Kal East Gold Operation located about 45km southeast of Kalgoorlie and close to the Lakewood processing plant. Development and production services for the underground project have been contracted to Macmahon Underground.
The first production phase targets 776 kilotonnes of ore grading 3.2g/t gold, expected to deliver around 80,000 ounces. Approximately 63% of this material is already classified as ore reserves, with a value of roughly US$2,300 per ounce. Black Cat also intends to begin underground drilling shortly to extend the resource, which remains open both at depth and along strike.
Supporting works are advancing alongside mine development, including the installation of permanent dewatering systems and portal reinforcement. At the Fingals open pit, mobilisation of equipment and site establishment is also progressing, setting up additional ore supply for the Lakewood facility. Together, Majestic and Fingals are expected to provide consistent feed for processing operations in the years ahead.
Managing director Gareth Solly confirmed that dewatering and portal ground support have been completed, with underground development now in motion. He noted that underground drilling for grade control and resource extension will begin soon, describing Majestic as a key step in the company’s strategy of delivering “More Gold, Sooner.”
In parallel, Black Cat has expanded its Paulsens gold project through new tenement acquisitions and pegging. The enlarged holding increases the scale of the Big Sarah prospect and lifts the company’s total tenure in the Barring Downs and Nanjilgardy fault zones to 2,722km².
