Manitou Launches First All-Electric Compact Telehandler, the MTA 519e

Manitou has introduced its first fully electric compact telehandler for the U.S. market, the MTA 519e, marking a significant step in the company’s move toward sustainable construction equipment.

Set for delivery in the second quarter, the MTA 519e builds on the diesel-powered MTA 519 launched in 2024, offering the same performance with zero emissions and reduced noise.

Electric Performance with Proven Capability

The MTA 519e retains the core capabilities of its diesel counterpart, including:

  • Maximum lift height of 19 feet
  • Load capacity of approximately 5,500 pounds

Powered by a lithium-ion battery, the machine delivers clean, quiet operation—making it especially suitable for indoor construction environments.

The battery system offers:

  • Around 5 hours of continuous runtime
  • Onboard charging capability
  • Centrally positioned battery for improved stability

In addition, the electric model reduces maintenance requirements by over 50% and uses significantly less hydraulic oil compared to diesel machines.

Designed for Versatility and Comfort

The MTA 519e is built for flexibility across a range of applications. A universal skid steer attachment system allows operators to use multiple tools, increasing job site versatility.

Key design features include:

  • A redesigned cab tailored for the North American market
  • Ergonomic joystick controls
  • The Harmoney dashboard for simplified operation and driver assistance

Although optimized for indoor use, the machine is also capable of handling all-terrain conditions.

Standard Features

The telehandler comes equipped with a range of practical features for operator comfort and efficiency:

  • Enclosed cab with heating and air conditioning
  • Simultaneous boom movements
  • Dual power modes (Standard and Boost)
  • Adjustable steering column
  • LED work and road lighting
  • Front and rear wipers

Lower Environmental Impact

Manufactured in France, the MTA 519e is also part of a broader sustainability effort. It will be transported to the U.S. aboard the Neoliner, a wind-powered cargo vessel designed to significantly reduce emissions compared to conventional shipping methods.

Key Specifications

  • Maximum capacity: 5,512 lbs
  • Lift height: 19 ft 2 in
  • Maximum outreach: 11 ft
  • Travel speed: 12 mph
  • Operating weight: 10,483 lbs
  • Dimensions: 12 ft 7 in (L) × 5 ft 11 in (W) × 6 ft 4 in (H)
  • Ground clearance: 1 ft 1 in
  • Hydraulic flow: 22 gpm at 3,408 psi
  • Battery: ~35 kWh lithium-ion

A Step Toward Electric Job Sites

With the launch of the MTA 519e, Manitou is expanding its electric equipment portfolio, offering contractors a cleaner alternative without sacrificing performance.

As demand grows for low-emission machinery, the MTA 519e positions itself as a practical solution for both indoor and outdoor construction applications.
