Surge Protector Tackles Dirty Power and Equipment Damage

Mechanical Ingenuity has introduced the Wavecrest surge protector, a compact solution designed to clean “dirty power” while protecting sensitive equipment from a wide range of electrical disturbances. The system guards against power sags, swells, transients, overvoltage, undervoltage and electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise.

Using a combination of metal oxide varistors (MOVs), capacitors, chokes and transformers, the Wavecrest limits surge energy by allowing through only about 10% of a power spike, significantly reducing the risk of damage to connected equipment.

The surge protector is designed for easy installation and features a built-in diagnostic display that provides real-time information on power status. Its space-saving design makes it suitable for a variety of applications, with models available for 120 V, 208 V, 240 V, 277 V and other common circuit configurations.

According to the supplier, the Wavecrest offers a cost-effective option for protecting specific circuits, making it ideal for facilities that do not require a full-scale overhaul of building-wide power infrastructure.
