RPX Gold advances Wawa project with additional drilling

RPX Gold has accelerated exploration activities at its Wawa Gold Project in Ontario, Canada, with the addition of a second diamond drill to fast-track its 20,000 m drilling programme ahead of a prefeasibility study planned for the first half of 2027.

The expanded campaign is designed to convert inferred mineral resources into indicated resources within key mining areas identified in the 2026 Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA). To date, the company has completed nearly 5,000 m of drilling, with the programme also supporting metallurgical, geotechnical and grade validation studies while testing new exploration targets beyond the existing resource areas.

Approximately 15,000–17,000 m of drilling has been allocated to resource conversion, while a further 3,000–5,000 m will focus on grassroots exploration to unlock additional growth opportunities across the property.

According to RPX Gold President and CEO Michael Michaud, the additional drill capacity enables the company to advance resource conversion alongside the technical work required for the prefeasibility study, while also providing greater flexibility to evaluate promising exploration targets identified during the 2025–2026 exploration programme.

Located within Ontario’s prolific Michipicoten Greenstone Belt, the Wawa Gold Project is RPX Gold’s flagship asset and is situated near established mining operations owned by Wesdome Gold Mines, Alamos Gold and Hemlo Mining. The project hosts mineral resources within the Jubilee Shear and Minto Mine deposits, reinforcing its potential as a significant future gold development.
