Macmahon Secures A$355 Million Underground Mining Contract at Mt Marion Lithium Mine

Macmahon Holdings Limited, through its wholly owned subsidiary Macmahon Underground Pty Ltd, has been awarded a A$355 million (US$248 million) contract to provide underground mining services at the Mt Marion lithium operation in Western Australia.

Located approximately 70 km south of Kalgoorlie, the Mt Marion mine is jointly owned by Mineral Resources Ltd and Jiangxi Ganfeng Lithium Co. Ltd. The agreement covers an initial three-year term, with an option to extend for an additional year.

Under the contract, Macmahon will undertake all underground development and production mining activities, supporting the next phase of the operation’s expansion.

Macmahon Managing Director and CEO Michael Finnegan said the contract represents a significant milestone for the company, strengthening its position as a leading underground mining contractor in the growing critical minerals sector.

He added that the partnership with Mineral Resources and Jiangxi Ganfeng Lithium will help maximise the potential of the Mt Marion operation while supporting its continued growth as a globally important lithium asset.
