Alphamin Resources Posts 26% Surge in Q3 Tin Output, Ups 2025 Production Outlook Amid DRC Security Concerns

Alphamin Resources has announced a strong rebound in tin production for the third quarter of 2025, recording 5,190 tonnes of contained tin — a 26% increase from the previous quarter’s 4,106 tonnes. The Johannesburg-listed company credited the improvement to a full quarter of uninterrupted operations following temporary shutdowns earlier in the year due to security issues in North Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Mining activities resumed gradually from mid-April, enabling a steady recovery in production. Alphamin reported that its processing plants continued to perform efficiently, with average recoveries of 76%, closely matching the prior quarter’s 77%.

Encouraged by the strong performance, the company now expects to produce about 5,000 tonnes of contained tin in the fourth quarter. Having already delivered 13,566 tonnes in the first nine months of 2025, Alphamin has raised its full-year production forecast to between 18,000 and 18,500 tonnes, up from the initial guidance of 17,500 tonnes.

Contained tin sales also increased by 12% quarter-on-quarter, reaching 5,143 tonnes in Q3.

Despite the operational gains, Alphamin acknowledged rising security tensions along the border of Massisi and Walikale territories in North Kivu. The company emphasized that its operations are located about 200 km from these hotspots but cautioned that the regional risk level remains high.

“We continue to operate within guidance parameters,” Alphamin stated. “However, any significant escalation closer to our mine site could impact operations.”

Operating under such conditions, Alphamin continues to demonstrate resilience as one of the world’s highest-grade tin producers, sustaining output stability and supporting global tin supply amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty in Central Africa.
