Authorities are examining circumstances surrounding a missing resources employee’s fatality.
Investigators recently confirmed a worker was unresponsive and died that same day at a mine site.
“Friends of the claim holder raised the alarm when they had not heard from the claim holder at the end of the day. The claim holder was found deceased in their opal claim,” they said in a New South Wales Resources Regulator safety summary.
Exactly how the incident unfolded was still being determined at the time of publication.
“An investigation has commenced. Further information will be published later,” the summary said.
