Epiroc, a leading partner in productivity and sustainability for the mining and construction industries, has successfully secured a large order for underground mining equipment from Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) in Kazakhstan. This order includes a variety of advanced machines, featuring battery-electric vehicles and tele-remote operation capabilities.

The order consists of a fleet of Epiroc loaders, mine trucks, and drill rigs designed for face drilling, production drilling, and rock reinforcement. This equipment will support the expansion of the 10th Anniversary chromium mine, also known as ShDNK-2, located in western Kazakhstan. Notably, some of the machines will be battery-powered, helping to reduce ventilation requirements while improving working conditions and productivity.

Valued at approximately SEK 350 million, the order was recorded in the third quarter of 2024.

Helena Hedblom, Epiroc’s President and CEO, stated, “We share a common goal with ERG of making mining operations as safe and productive as possible. We are pleased to extend our nearly two-decade collaboration, which now includes the integration of battery-electric vehicles into their operations.”

The ordered equipment features battery-electric and automation-ready models, including the Minetruck MT42 SG and Scooptram ST14 SG. Additional machines include the Boomer S2 face drilling rig, the Simba E70 S production drill rig, and the Cabletec M10 S rock reinforcement rig, among others.

Delivery of the equipment is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2025 and will extend into the second half of 2026.
